A diet might be regarded as colorblind if you see mostly white and brown color in your meal. A colorful diet is more preferable for a healthy diet. To provide maximum nutrients to your body, it is necessary to have a plate that is colorful. It is unhealthy to eat foods that are colorless such as meat and potatoes as such foods are not sufficient to provide your body with minerals and vitamins.
In order to have a healthy diet, there are some colors that you add in daily plate for sure:
The yellow color foods include mostly vitamins. This color is effective in reducing the rate of heart attack and cancer. These foods are rich in bioflavonoid and they help to keep the skin healthy and bones strong. Foods included in this category are lemons, grapefruit, oranges, pineapple, apricots, yellow peppers, peaches and yellow raisins.
The green colored food category includes spinach, kale, melons, peas, kiwifruit, honeydew melons, and dark leafy lettuces. This green group increases a person’s vision. Another group in green includes bok choy, Brussels sprouts, swiss chard, turnips, watercress and cabbage. This group also decreases the risk of cancer in people.
In this category, dark orange food products are included such as mangoes, apricots, pumpkin, carrots, sweet potatoes and cantaloupes. It enhances your immune system and maintains vision. It also reduces the cancer and heart attack rate.
Blue & Purple
It includes blueberries, black currents, black berries, and purple grapes. It also decreases chances of heart attack, diabetics, and cancer. Dark Purple meals if taken can reduce the aging process.
Red colored foods are tomato, watermelon, guava and pink grapefruit. This category food has lycopene in it that can avoid the prostate cancer effects. Such foods also have the capacity to minimize the risk of breast cancer, heart attack and skin cancer.
Other foods include red cherries, red onion, strawberries, raspberries, red apple, beets, and cranberries. Red cabbage has the ability to control the blood pressure level as it contains anthocyanins in it that is a great antioxidant. It also reduces the risk of heart attack, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and diabetes.
